Have you still not had a look at the great works of the RAY 2015 Frankfurt/RheinMain international photography triennial, yet? Well, than better quickly take your chance. There are only a few days left until the exhibition closes at September 20th.
First launched in 2012 unter the headline „Making History“ the RAY photography project has made it a task both to become an international platform for contemporary photography and to show the social relevance of photo art in general. For 2015 again the MMK Frankfurt (Museum für Moderne Kunst | Museum of Modern Art) is a key partner of the triennial and presents the main exhibition according to the motto IMAGINE REALITY – among this exclusive new productions commissioned by RAY 2015. Further the MMK cooperates with The Fotografie Forum Frankfurt and the Museum für Angewandte Kunst (MAK), who also show a selection of works
This years´ featured photographic approaches focus on the boundaries between documentary, photo-journalistic, applied and artistic photography. By addressing the subjectiveness of our perception, the selection of works is meant to demonstrate how photography not only reproduces our reality, but also is able to create new forms of it. Among these are the stunning pictures of such famous contemporary photographers, like Jonas Dahlberg, Jan Tichy or Sonja Braas.
RAY 2015 is an initiative of the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain and a cooperative undertaking of the Art Collection Deutsche Börse, Darmstädter Tage der Fotografie, Sammlung Deutsche Bank, DZ BANK Kunstsammlung, Fotografie Forum Frankfurt, Frankfurter Kunstverein, Marta Hoepffner-Gesellschaft für Fotografie e.V. / Stadtmuseum Hofheim, Museum Angewandte Kunst, MMK Museum für Moderne Kunst Frankfurt am Main, Museum Wiesbaden, NKV Nassauischer Kunstverein and Stiftung Opelvillen Rüsselsheim.
