This weekend the famous Museumsuferfest takes place in the heart of Frankfurt. Starting by Friday 28th, August the shore of the Main river will become a melting pot for culture, music, food, drinks and party for the following three days until the 30th, August 2015 Besides several stages from local radio stations and clubs and testeful food from several restaurant and caterers based in Frankfurt also the museums located at the Schaumainkai present a special program during these days. Since the official schedule is always fully packed with tons of events, shows, music acts and other appointment, we have made up a little selection for you, so that you won´t miss the great events of the Museumsuferfest 2015.
Each a year a guestland has the honor to present the country and its tradition to the Frankfurt people. Thiy year Indonesia will enrich the Museumsuferfest with spectacular shows and events. For the official opening you will have the chnce to experience the great musical diversity of Indonesia. Further Frankfurt´s senior mayor and Indonesia´s ambassador Fauzi Bowo will officially open this year´s festival

The Städel is the place of traditional art and the old masters. Since 2012 also modern art finds its place in the venerable halls of the museum. For this year there is something special to celebrate – the 200th anniversary. During the Museumsuferfest the house will be opened much longer than normally to give its guests a chance to get a look on the permanent exhibition and the current special exhibitons „Die 80er. Figurative Malerei in der BRD“ and „Laster des Lebens. Druckgrafik von William Hogarth“. Besides there will be a special panel taking place at 7 p.m. at the Metzler-Saal about the relationship of the avantgarde and the art of paintings with lectures by Dr. Jörn Schafaff (art theorist and free author from Berlin) and Dr. Martin Engler (head of collections contemporary art of the Städel museum).

The Museum für angewandte Kunst brings our daily life to the museum and shows in different exhibitions how fast not only technical advantages develop but also how striking culture and society changes in relation to their daily used objects. 2015 the museum celebrates its 30th anniversary with the movement to the Richard-Meyer-House. For this occasion the MAK is happy to welcome you in its wonderful park for celebrating this special date every evening from 8 p.m. on. Besides you are cordially invited to visit the current exhibitions „Im Verborgenen“ and „RAY. Imagine Reality“ or take part in one of the many special panel, which are planned for the Museumsuferfest 2015.

The German Filmmuseum in Frankfurt is the hot spot for everything connected to film and cinema. Besides the permanent exhibition and changing specials the in-house cinema regularly presents a great selection of all time favourite movies and those ones, which you definitely should not miss. During the Museumsuferfest the Filmmuseum presents a daily flea market for movies, posters and a lot of other things connected to fillm. Have a look and find some real treasures.

Frankfurts radios station for subculture presents live poetry slam during the Museumsuferfest. Don´t miss the city´s most talented young artists and their geat play of words on the stage.

Music is a huge part of the Museumsuferfest and of course a various number of performers, singer-songwirters, brands and DJs enter the different stages at the main river shore. The team of Re:Fresh your mind again presents a selcetion of great Frankfurt DJs directly at the R|Y|M stage near the Holbeinsteg. Among others Karotte, Amin Fallaha, BIFFY and Amino will join them.
